About Alexz Wigg Alexz Wigg is the son of former International Grass Track Ace, Julian Wigg, and nephew of five-times World Longtrack Champion, Simon Wigg. Sharing the same birthday as the great Sammy Miller, and just 18 years old he has recently left school to concentrate on his riding career.
He has made great progress in the Youth Trials world, from gaining his first National D class victory at the age of eight, to winning the world Youth championship in 2006. In 2003 he became British B class champion, and in September 2004 the UEM European Youth Champion, then again in 2005. He became the most successful youth rider ever taking the world, European and Spea titles all in 2006.
In 2007 he moved up to the Junior class at world level on his 125cc machine and achieved the runner up spot, which was an amazing achievement on a "half size" machine. This level of success was noticed by more than one of the manufacturers and as of January 2008 Alexz is now a full time professional rider with the Italian Future Trial team. In the UK this support is mirrored by Sandifords Motorcycles who are supporting him at all the British events.
The goal this year is to go one better and win the Junior Championship, but it is a long road there so come back soon to check on how he's getting on!
